What is QR code

QR Code

Generally, the QR Code is a bi-dimensional Barcode which is easily readable by smartphones using a third-party app or easily scanned by some others QR-code scanner device. QR code carries a maximum of 4000 characters in a bi-dimensional Barcode. This can be used to display text, URL, contact, address, messages, accept payments and many things to the user, by just scan the QR-code. This “QR Code” is registered as a trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

History of QR Code

The QR code technique to store data into a picture was generated in 1994 by the Denso Wave (the Japanese company). The purpose of the QR-code system was to track vehicles during fabricating and manufacturing; this was designed for use high-speed components scanning. Nowadays, QR codes are used in a highly broader context which includes both convenience-oriented applications, and commercial tracking applications for smartphone users (in term of mobile tagging). QR codes can be used for display text and data to the user by just scanning of QR code, this can add a VCard contacts to the user's smart devices to open a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), this is also used to connect wirelessly to the network, or to compose an email, text message, or any other data. Today, there are many great QR codes generators available like software or online tools. The QR code mechanism has only become one of the most used in the two-dimensional code.

What is Dynamic QR Code?

In dynamic QR code, if the QR Code is generated once with content than it cannot be changed. In other referral, Dynamic QR Code is a QR Code by the points to a static URL link that carries the actual content or data (e.g. the real URL of any source). The content of a QR code can be changed after the QR Code has been printed after generated. The dynamic QR code can be used exactly as normal QR Codes. Dynamic QR codes provide a simple view tracking for Codes. You can also put your Google Analytics Tracking ID to your QR code for advanced tracking of your Google analytics. You can generate QR codes free of charge from any website which has offers a QR code generator.

Varients of QR codes

1. Model-1

Model 1 QR code is the older version of the QR code in the specification. It is similar to the model 2 QR codes but lacks alignment patterns.

2. Micro QR codeMicro QR code is the 2nd version of a QR code mechanism which is a smaller version of the QR code. In this version of the QR code, the size of a symbol is limited and it cannot be exceeded. There are four different sizes of Micro QR codes: the smallest is “11×11” modules, the largest can hold a maximum of 35 numeric characters in QR code.

3. IQR

IQR Code is another type to existing QR codes developed by Denso Wave. IQR codes may be created in square and rectangular format this is an intent for conditions where a rectangular QR code would otherwise be more suitable, such as cylindrical objects. IQR codes can carry the same information using 30% less space. There are 15 versions of rectangular QR codes and 61 versions of square IQR codes. If we discuss square QR codes, the minimum size is 9×9 modules and rectangles have a minimum of 19×5 modules. IQR codes can add an error correction level S, which allows the user to make a 50% error correction. These IQR Codes have not been giving an ISO specification, and only mastered by Denso Wave products, and they can create or read IQR codes.

4. Secure QR Codes (SQRC)

SQRC is another type of QR Code, these types of QR code can securely be equipped with reading restricting functions. These QR codes can be used for storing private internal information of the company, and it can easily manage by company. These types of SQRC codes can be read-only by specific types of scanners.SQRC codes can consist of public part data and private part data. It is possible to store 2 control levels of information in one code by using SQRC codes.SQRC is looking the same as the regular QR codes, there is no major difference between regular QR Code and SQRC codes. These QR codes have all functionalities that come with the regular QR Code and also includes error correction functions.

5. Frame QR codes

Frame QR is a QR code that comes with a “canvas area” that user can be used flexibly. The canvas area is in the center of QR code, where the graphics, letters, and more can be easily arranged by the user, and making it possible to design the illustrations of QR code, photos of QR codes, etc. without losing the layout of QR code.
6. High Capacity Colored Two Dimensional codes (HCC2D)
These are the color QR codes that may have requires addressing additional issues. HCC2D codes have wrath with chromatic distortions during the decoding process. HCC2D QR codes make use of an additional field of the Color Palette Pattern. Replicated color palettes are used for machine learning purposes.
